The NGO-DARPAN is a platform that provides space for interface between Voluntary Organisations/NGOs and key Government Ministries / Departments / Government Bodies. This is a free facility offered by the NITI Aayog in association with National Informatics Centre to bring about greater partnership between government & voluntary sector and foster better transparency, efficiency and accountability.
The NITI Ayog DARPAN Portal facilitates Voluntary Organizations/NGOs to obtain a system generated Unique ID, as and when signed. The Unique ID is mandatory to apply for grants under various schemes of Ministries/Departments/Governments Bodies.
What is a Voluntary Organization/Non-Governmental Organization (NGO)
Voluntary Organizations/Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) are engaged in public service, based on ethical, cultural, social, economic, political, religious, spiritual, philanthropic or scientific & technological considerations, these are community based, charitable, supportive, cultural or recreational, sports organizations and professional membership associations.
These are registered generally in India as Trust, Societies and Section-8 Companies.
It is mandatory for Voluntary Organizations/NGOs to register on the NGO DARPAN portal if they intend to receive grants or assistance from the Government Departments, Ministries. Government. Without DARPAN ID, NGOs cannot get donations from abroad. Prior to FCRA License, DARPAN ID is mandatory for NGOs to get foreign donations.

DARPAN ID Generation
Through eMail - 1 DayThe NGO DARPAN officials will go through your application and if everything is ok, they will approve the application and send the approval information through email. Onece you get approval email, just login to the NGO DARPAN portal and click generate DARPAN ID. Then your DARPAN ID will be generated online. you can save the same for your records.
