PSARA License is nothing but a License issued under Private Security Agencies Regulation Act to the security gaurds providers. Any person or a business entity which provides security guards, has to take Private Security Agency Regulation Act (PSARA) License. You can apply for PSARA License with the Home Department of your state. An application for issue of license under this Act shall only be considered from a person after due verification of his antecedents. A Company, firm or an association of persons shall not be considered for issue of license under this Act, it it is not registed in India, or having a proprietor or a majority shareholder, partner or director, who is not not a citizen of India.

An application for grant of license for running a private security agency is to be made to the Controlling Authority in Form V and Form III with an affidavit, indemnity bond, id and address proofs incorporating the details in relation to the provisions of this Act. The application shall be accompanied by a fee of (i) rupees five thousand if the private security agency is operating in one district of a State, (ii) rupees ten thousand if the private security agency is operating in more than one but upto five districts of a State and (iii) rupees twenty five thousand if the private security agency is operating in whole of the State. The license granted is valid for five years.

The State Home Department issues this License.

• It is renewed after completion of Five Years from the date of License.
